Are you looking for easy-to-teach, no-prep, digital PowerPoint lessons to welcome your youngest online learners into English? I’ve go you.
This is my go to Unit that I have crafted for my first sessions with those students who seem very young for the online world, or whose level isn’t really communicative yet. Unit 1 consists of five short, engaging PowerPoint lessons that help kids confidently say their names and learn foundational words, which last approximately 25-30 minutes.
Highlights of this Unit:
- Quick Launch: Each lesson is a complete PPT, ready-made and to use, just download, open, teach.
- Perfect Pacing: 4 words per lesson keeps content digestible and fun.
- Flexible Timing: Lessons last ~25–30 minutes, with extras to extend if needed. Each lesson has a game at the end, some extras and some homework links to extend and make the lesson more interactive.
- Personal & Interactive: Centered on “What’s your name?” “Feelings” “Numbers” and presentations, fostering speaking from Day 1.
- Mini-Curriculum: part of a broader one, five-lesson unit builds vocabulary steadily, 20 words total.
- Online-Ready: Bright slides, simple animations, built for teaching online where you can share your screen with your students.
Lesson 1: What’s your name?
You can access this one for free here.
It’s the fist contact student will have with the Unit. The content is oriented so the student is able to say their name using a full sentences, listening to a song and drilling with some other slides, the students will also be able to answer or start getting used to the question: How are you?

Four words they will be pratising in this lesson are: Hello, Goodbye, Happy and Sad.
Lesson 2: Greetings
You can purchase the lesson here.
The content is oriented towards greetings and having the students differentiate the moments of the day to greet their teacher: morning (good), afternoon (good), night (good).

Four words they will be pratising in this lesson are: Good, Morning, Afternoon, Night.
Lesson 3: How old are you?
You can purchase the lesson here.
The focus of this third lesson is to work on Numbers from 1 to 10 and the age of the students. After this lesson the students should be able to understand the questions “How old are you?” and answer at least using one words sentences or fingers. There is drilling, songs and practice aiming for the students to hit that full sentences: “I am ___ years old”.

The 4 set words of this lesson is actually a bit more than 4: Numbers from1-10 and two new feelings: sleepy and angry.
There is also some revision of previous lessons.
Lesson 4: Are you a boy or a girl?
You can purchase the lesson here.
In this lesson the students will continue to complete their presentation: My name is… I am… years old, I am a (girl or boy) and can also work on their color preferences.

The set of words for this unit is: girl, boy, blue and red.
Disclaimer: This lesson introduces the words girl and boy as part of a very simple beginner vocabulary set. I am fully aware that gender identity is more diverse than these two categories, but at this very early stage of language learning, keeping the vocabulary minimal and concrete helps young learners grasp basic English more effectively. Every teacher knows their students best, and I encourage you to adapt the lesson language and examples in a way that feels most respectful and appropriate for your learners.
Lesson 5: It’s a yellow monster
You can purchase the lesson here.
The last lesson of this unit has it’s focus on the colors. In this lesson kids will learn to identify some colors and use short sentences to answer questions: it’s…
it’s also a nice lesson to review some content from the previous lessons and to talk about colors and find colors around us.

Key words in this lesson: purple, orange, green and yellow.
